Begining of the resurrection!

September 30, 2008

Ah hi everybody!

Currently started with playing a pretty well known game called “Warhammer online”, and one of the things I noticed while playing on my zealot was all the equipment that supported something known as “brute-healers”. So I’m starting a blog mostly to share how my experiment goes. I hope you will like it! :D

Curently: Rank 14, 198 toughness, 233 will, 140 initiative, 185 wounds.

OBS! My so called “good” comp is curently deader than a dodo, so there will not be any more updates from my point of view for some weeks ahead! Tho I’ve been able to get some information from some beta testers/ hardcore players who also tryed this and had great sucsess. A zealot at rank 40 is suposed to be able to withstanda whole scecenario with the help of a tanks buffing.

Introduction:

So what is a “brute-healer” you may ask, it’s a special way of abusing the healer class. If we take a look at the normal healer class you’ll have a squishy little guy with almost no way of surviving heavy dmg, brute-healers are all about maximising their survivability to beyond common sense.

The normal problem that occurs when doing this is the lack of equipment that boosts that aspect, often you only have equipment that boost your healing even further then needed. Even tho the healing boost makes you harder to kill, you can only survive about one enemy before slowly dropping further down in the ditch.

The goal:

Now that you know a bit about what they are I can start telling about what my so called “goal” is. Oki, to start with most of you who reads this knows what warhammer online is. When I played with my zealot at the t2 areas I noticed alot of what I like to refer to “brute-gear”, witch basicly is tanking gear for healers. At first I were a bit supriced and thought: Naaah, like they would make us do that kind of healers again…

But as I went further in the game I saw more and more of these equipments, so I made the goal for myself:

It’s to get a zealot up to 40 while trying to obtain brute-gear throu all the ranks and while doing it write down my sucsess on cocktail napkins that hopefully get up to this blog at a sertain point.

Basic info and equipment:

Right, lets start with the basic. The main stat of reducing incoming dmg. in warhammer is toughness, it gives a flat out -dps on attacks made to you. This will be our main stat, so try to make it so that most of your equipment is focused around that.

The second stat is will; will is basicly what gives extra power to your heals (you’r still a healer so you will heal, ALOT) and also gives a chanse to neglect enemy spells witch always an extra. Keep in mind that the highest dps. class is caster and neglecting that one spell can change the whole outcome of the battle.

Third, wounds! Wounds improves your healthpool witch is essenchal for surviving spikedmg. or crowdcontrol time IE: Stuns, silences and etc.

Forth is a stat called initiativ, it’s gives your enemys a nice sink in thier critchanse. Witch is awsome, less crits on you means less healing needed. It also gives you a higher chanse to dodge projectiles and a higher chanse to detect stealthed enemys.

fifth and so forth, is right now nothing special. Get some resistances if you have problem with casters, higher armor walues on you cloth if you’r having trubble with mele.

Oh and one last thing about equipment: The absolute main thing you need to do is dye your cloth bright pretty colours so that it may irritate your enemys even more when they can’t kill you. (Don’t take this last thing seriously)

Mastery training:

I got a question not to long ago about what way you should go when making a brute-healer, and the answer is simple. Witchever you prefer, all the three trees the zealot have is awsome in both healing and dmg’ing. So if you like direct heals go alchemy, if you like HoT’s go witchcraft and if you prefer AoE go into the thrird one. For myself I went witchcraft due to my love for both HoT’s and DoT’s.

Rank 1-11:

First of all, you need to pick a healer class. I chose zealot for the way they handle combat, after you picked it get it up to rank 8-9 and then go over and do the chapter 5 pq’s for the influence rewards. Don’t know about other classes but the zealot got a really nice blue robe, a blue dagger, a descent offhand and some greens from the advanced rewards. When I was done I was almost rank 9 and had about renown rank 7, so I visited the nearest warcamp and bought myself renown belt, rings/chains/neckless. And that’s about what gear I had up to rank 11. With this gear you should have about as mutch as the tanking classes, but if you know me I always go full hearted so I went to the renown trainer and got myself rank 1-3 of the + toughness skill. With this all added I had a total of 156 toughness, about 150 will, 90 initative, -20% to mele from armor and -40% from all the spell schools with the ressitance mark.

So far it worked awsome, it took about 3-5 people depending on class to take me down in scenarion and I could still heal as good as most other zealots. Infact most of the time I were on the top of healing due to every other healot got zerged and died in a matter of seconds while I could still heal everyone without dropping.

Rank 12-21: coming soon

Rank 22-31: coming soon

Rank 32-40: coming soon

Special thanks to:

Warwolt for getting the link to this god damned site. :P

Frawi for helping with gathering some of the gear, but mostly for being a nice guy to chat with.
